Survivor

Survivors

I was halfway
towards the journey
to the top
where my destiny awaits
with the garland of victory

But the hurdles of devil
plotted evil schemes
to pull me down
and break my pride
with it's weapon called fear

I looked up
where my dream lies
I looked down
where my past cries
I had climbed
the unconquerable mountain.
However it's snow covered crown
was only the challenge

There is a time
when burden of insecurity
outweighs your ability,
weakening your focus
diluting your efforts
making you fall
from feet so high

That time arrived
with the bang
at the doorstep
of my journey,
dwindling everything
I had in stake

My focus was at it's worse.
Alas! I made a mistake !
I put wrong foot
at the wrong place
And I fell from thousand feet

I lay on the ground
where I had started
with zeal of bird
making it's first flight
My pride was broken
and my confidence wounded
My limbs were tired
while my strength left
me to my circumstances

The vultures of failures
circled around me,
planning the death
of my identity
As I was about to give up,
a thought struck me,
Why not set to climb again?

My conscious mocked,
my opponents laughed
but I didn't give up
and climbed
treacherous journey
to the top

My focus had doubled,
my efforts tripled
while I didn't give
way to my distractions
I never looked down
and climbed forward
to glory at the top

At last I reached the top,
where my destiny waited
with garland of victory
I claimed the crown
as the survivor of my fall
