Missing

Her blue strapless summer dress,
with less or no make up
And long black tresses
Tumbling on her face
Are the last reminders of that day.

I wish I was more firm
While saying no
I wish I was more stringent
And didn't stumble
To her kind request of  night out
At so called popular club

" It's just a night out,
All my girl friends will be there"
She had said with pleading  eyes
That melted my heart
And sigh! I said yes!

Hours turned into days,
My little girl didn't turn up
Where did she go?
Is she fine?
My concerns gave me sleepless nights

'Missing !' ' Disappearance !' had become
Common words around me.
As the news of her disappearance spread
People came from various areas of life
To help me trace my baby

Police stations was my home now,
With me spending more time there
The club where she hung out
The people she was around,
Anything or everything about her
had become center of my life

' She must have run away'
' She must have been abducted'
' She must have been murdered'
' She must be used as pawn for human trafficking!'
Ah! These thoughts never left me alone

Forensic evaluation didn't help
Criminal site investigation was useless
Any small clues about her
Only gave me few minutes of peace

Where was she?
Did she feel the pain or sorrow
the way I am feeling now?
Every minute doesn't go
Without prayer of finding her safe.

I sit on the coach
with my eyes on the front doors.
The same door when I had bid her
For one last time.

I still hope one fine day
she walks into my life
With same blue summer strapless dress
And long  black tresses
