My lil Sis

On this day;
twenty odd years back;
a monster was born
with curly hair;
chubby cheeks;
and million dollar smile

She loved to bite
everything and everyone
she sighted
with her tiny eyes
when she got her first tooth

Shiny stuffs;
glittering things;
amazed her
as she grew up
wearing anything that shines

Her bunny bugs smiles;
Her "Ugly Betty" braces;
will always remind me;
the memories of notorious past

Our cat fights;
Our WWE wrestling;
Our verbal attacks ;
and our kiss and patch up
like soul sisters always

Her red MAC lipstics;
Her forever 21 dress;
Her leopard pattern shoes;
at the showroom
of this mall
reminds me of her
as I walk

Happy Bday lil sister;
even when I am not there;
I will bug you with
this not so rhyming poem

There was a little girl.

There was a little girl;
whose dreams were bigger;
than her tiny little feet

There was a little girl;
who wanted to grow;
like beautiful ladies;
wearing tiaras;
smiling and gleaming
while the world
called them 'Miss World"

There was a little girl
who wanted to unravel;
the mysteries of the world;
finding new inventions;
discoveries and species;
in the world
so big and strange

There was a little girl
who wanted to fight;
crimes of the world;
secretly hiding
and catching them (criminals) all

There was a little girl
who wants to be doctor one day;
a movie director another day;
a princess or tycoon;
a social activists some day;
or something new
another day

Then she found;
a hidden talent;
a shining light;
a passion she didn't know;

A tiny funny story
she made up;
about her little sister;
became so famous
with her friends and family
which ignited a writer
in her :)

That Night

The sweet smile
mixed with bitter sadness while
I walk past;
with future uncertain
waiting across the street;
so colourful and bright
that night

It's Saturday night;
time to unleash
the free spirit;
the people sing
as they enjoy their last drink

It seems like wildest dream;
walking on this street;
passing the dancing strangers;
drunk with memories
of that night

The humid weather;
melts the artificial colour
on my skin
as I try to get away
from the sweaty crowd

Music is playing
from the cheesy pub;
as I watch the dancing couple;
celebrating romance
while reminding me past
of that careless night
where I kissed my dead lover
one last time

The Invisible

Look at the stars,
gleaming and shining;
looking out for attention;
they have desired for long

Look at the people,
awestruck by the glimpses;
of the shiny stars;
as they arrive;
during the night

Look at the performers;
not wary of themselves;
or the others gathered;
while basking in praises
for their talents
they boast

Look at the spectators;
always watching out;
for shiny stars;
ignoring invisible;
with hidden talents

Look at the Invisible
standing at the corner
waiting eagerly;
praising boasters;
undermining themselves
though they are better;
than the proclaimed shiny stars

Look at the Forgotten
waiting for chance
to redeem themselves;
to reclaim position;
and attention
lost in the war
against themselves

Cinderella, Cinderella

O'Cinderella Cinderella
where do you go,
leaving behind your dreams
as the midnight strikes?

O'Cinderella Cinderella
why do you bend
as your stepmother plots
for goodness of her daughters?

O'Cinderella Cinderella
your heart is pure,
golden and clean,
yet you are weak
in hands of evil

O'Cinderella Cinderella
you don't need
any fairy God mother
to enlighten you
with hope

O'Cinderella Cinderella
you hide your real self
beneath the layers
of magical transformation
granted by Godmother

O'Cinderella Cinderella
don't hide
stand up for your right,
as world will recognize
you as bold and beautiful
not delicate princess
of your prince charming

Rainy nights

The rainy nights,
of late September,
neither so hot,
nor so cold,
marking the begining
of season of authumn

Wet! Wet! Everywhere!
Tiny droplets
turn into puddles ,
due to imperfect roads;
made to gain votes

The plants,
green and rich again,
relieved from sun
scorching and burning ,
due to man made global warming

Thunders rumbling,
Lightining flickering,
momentarily appearing,
as the clouds merged,
hiding stars and the moon

Smell of hot pakoras,
crispy and hot,
tempts taste buds,
while tummy craves ,
for one bite

The nature cries,
of happiness,
and sadness ,
in form of tiny droplets
to wash away pain ,
and clean away dirt

Benji Boo

His round eyes
staring deep
into me
with tiny
pinch of curiosity

His mouth is open
with huge tongue out
waiting for treats
I offer everyday

He is my sweetheart;
who melts my heart
distracting me
taking me to world of his

He is carefree
running around the house,
barking at strangers
sniffing strange smells
is what he does
while I am out

He eats whatever
he finds chewable;
shoes or biscuits;
chips are his favorite

He wags his tail;
whines for me;
claws the fence
that separates me and him
while I call him
my Benji Boo
